About

In this case the Client instructed us to seek a Planning Permission for a property having a floor area far in excess of that which existed.

The only way of achieving this on a site which stood in the middle of The Great Bledlow Wood and within the Chilterns Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty was to first reinstate old permissions for extension which were never implemented by the former owner and from their to exploit the Permitted Development Rights that existed at that time. Once we had achieved this as a first phase, this created a platform to negotiate a replacement dwelling of a size that met with Client expectations.

We instructed Jeff and his team with a very open mind and realistic expectations. We knew our case would be potentially very complex, by no-means straightforward or an easy brief. The result we ended up with however far surpassed what we’d hoped for and as we embark on building our home we are truly grateful for the counsel, insight and expertise of the JCE consultancy. The team are knowledgeable but supportive and are willing to listen – which makes all the difference – and all done with a desire to create something that will genuinely be of architectural merit to the local area. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Jeff and his team in the future.
